Left Wing Millionaires Demand Higher Taxes They Could Just Pay Themselves

A group of wealthy left wing UK individuals calling themselves the “Patriotic Millionaires” has launched a bus tour from Edinburgh to London urging Chancellor Rachel Reeves to hike taxes on extreme wealth in the November 26 Autumn Budget.

They want profits from selling investments to be taxed the same as normal income, and they also want a new yearly 2% tax on anyone with more than £10 million in total wealth.

Phil White, former business consultant, engineer, and founding member of Patriotic Millionaires UK as well as (ah!) campaigner for “climate and economic justice” said: “Come and tax us, we can afford it,” thinks they can raise £24 billion.

Business owner Rod Mason asked White on X: “Why don’t you then?”

White has “BuildBackBetter”  in his X bio, a politically loaded slogan tied to global elites, COVID-era policies, and left-leaning corporatist economic ideas that many people came to distrust during the lockdowns.

But if they believe they’re undertaxed, why don’t they just pay more themselves? The government already provides a voluntary tax payment portal.

The Labour government Budget could bring massive tax rises and spending cuts, so bad that some are already urging Brits to leave the country.

Maybe this is just a round of wealthy left wing people signalling not only their virtue, but their wealth as well…
