Tim Dillon Says Silicon Valley Is Racing to Summon an AI Demon Before China Does

In a recent monologue, Comedian and podcaster Tim Dillon (satirically…) suggested that Silicon Valley’s AI elite, including Peter Thiel and Sam Altman, are effectively locked in a techno-occult arms race to summon an “ancient Sumerian super-intelligent demon” through artificial intelligence.

Yeah, right!

“But Sam Altman basically has come out and said it,” said Dillon, noting that the Open AI boss recently said that “takes a lot of energy to train a human. It takes like 20 years of life and all of the food you eat during that time before you get smart.”
“These people believe they’re communicating with some ancient Sumerian deity,” said Dillon.
“In this quote AI arms race […] the US and China are both racing to give birth to an ancient Sumerian super intelligent demon,” he said.
“An entire human race needed years and years of evolution to produce the conditions so that we can train people and so that people can have lives,” said Dillon.

I mean, Elon Musk investor did say that humanity risks “summoning a demon” over 10 years ago.

“With artificial intelligence, we are summoning the demon,” Musk said last week at the MIT Aeronautics and Astronautics Department’s 2014 Centennial Symposium. “You know all those stories where there’s the guy with the pentagram and the holy water and he’s like… yeah, he’s sure he can control the demon, [but] it doesn’t work out.”

Last year, Christian conservative journalist Megan Basham said that Elon Musk’s AI tool Grok sent her a demonic image after she asked it to simply edit a few paragraphs about Christian colleges.

“I just asked Grok how it would edit a couple of clunky paragraphs I’d written about Christian colleges for better flow,” Basham wrote on X. “And it replied with this image.”

When she resubmitted the text, Grok repeatedly turned it into a screenshot of a demonic looking creature with red eyes.

But Dillon is joking, guys, it’s a joke, right, yeah?
