Reform Loses Worcestershire Council After Tory-Green Alliance

Reform UK has lost its grip on Worcestershire County Council after being outmanoeuvred by a shock rainbow alliance in local politics.

The Conservatives teamed up with the Greens, Liberal Democrats and independents at Thursday’s full council meeting to back Green councillor Matt Jenkins as leader.

Reform’s candidate was Alan Amos, the party’s new group leader and a former Conservative MP.

But every other group on the council, including the Conservatives, Greens, Lib Dems, Labour and independents, rallied behind Jenkins instead.

Reform said many Conservative voters would see the move as a betrayal of the party’s principles.

Richard Tice, Reform UK’s deputy leader, said: “The message from Worcestershire is clear: vote Tory, get Polanski,” addint that Tory leader was “jumping into bed with” the Green Party.

“After bankrupting Worcestershire County Council when they were in charge, the Tories have now inflicted on local residents a radical outfit that wants an amnesty for all illegal migrants and the blanket legalisation of every drug.”

UPDATE: The row escalated more after reports that Badenoch had now suspended the Conservative group leader on Worcestershire County Council following the deal to keep Reform out.

Tories told the DailyMail that Kemi was “clear she would not put up with this sort of nonsense.”

It’s spicy out there in local politics!
