Why Are Pineapples Being Soaked in Kool-Aid All Over TikTok?
Kool-Aid pineapples are taking over TikTok, with creators soaking pineapple spears in Kool-Aid powder and sugar until they turn neon red, pink, or blue.
The basic recipe seems to be add pineapple juice, Kool-Aid powder and full cup of sugar together and leave to soak overnight.
Some have claimed a full jar of the spears can contain roughly the same amount of sugar as nine cans of Coke, while others have compared the sugar load to dozens of Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts.
Let’s go diabetes!
The trend has also become a running joke online.
Fud Reaper wrote on X: “The Kool Aid Pineapple Event of Summer 2026 is going to be the greatest setback for Black people since the CIA orchestrated the crack epidemic in the 80s. The effects of this event will be felt for generations to come.”
The worst part is that once you click on one of these videos, your timeline is finished. You will get video after video of people slurping down these things.
Columnist O.W. Root wrote: “I don’t want to see anymore Kool-Aid pineapple videos. But I’ve clicked on too many and my TL is ravaged. It’s just neon slice after neon slice in bright colored water.”
At this point, in about three months, we will find out that some PR firm has been paid to shed a load of jar of pineapples that were going to go off.
