The British government is drastically accelerating its national home defence blueprints, preparing the population for a major war with Russia.

As the Kremlin kicks off against the Brits for supporting Ukraine, Whitehall makes plans to get the population to start hoarding cans of beans.

The Telegraph reported that the government is drawing up plans for the “war book,” the classified blueprint for prepping the country during conflict. The manual was last updated in 2004.

The Financial Times also reported that the government said that there “will be practical advice on things you can do to improve domestic resilience, like having some bottled water and tinned food.”

“It will be common sense, not scaremongering,” it said.

The calls hark back to The Protect and Survive pamphlet, produced by Margaret Thatcher’s government during the cold war in 1980, advised people on the safest way to protect themselves after a nuclear attack

The plans come as Russia warned on X it that it could strike British and French military targets both inside and outside Ukraine, following the UK’s pledge to share classified technical intelligence to help Kyiv build its own long-range cruise missiles.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that London and Paris are “trying to dodge responsibility for deep strikes into Russia by shifting the assembly role to Ukraine.”

“They should understand this is ‘playing with fire’ and that the consequences could be unpredictable, including for them,” it said.

The post included an image of the Ukrainian trident superimposed on top of London’s Tower Bridge and Paris’s Eiffel Tower.

Kinda sounds like government is preparing the population for the threat of war.
