‘We’re Building Portals To Summon Aliens,’ Says Ex-Open AI Boss
Ronan Farrow, the famous investigative journo who loves digging up dirt, has just dropped a bombshell in The New Yorker after 18 months of work.
According to an unamed former OpenAI exec, Sam Altman and his tech bros aren’t just coding chatbots anymore. Nah, they’re “building portals from which we’re genuinely summoning aliens.”
Farrow posted on X that the boss said: “We’re building portals from which we’re genuinely summoning aliens. The portals currently exist in the United States and China, and Sam has added one in the Middle East. It’s just, like, wildly important to get how scary that should be.”
The ex-OpenAI bloke reckons it’s “the most reckless thing that’s been done.”
Maybe the “summoning aliens” line is pure metaphor for unleashing god-like tech just a euphemism for a novel AI.
But note the use of “genuinely” and it sounds proper dodgy.

In a recent monologue, Comedian and podcaster Tim Dillon (satirically…) suggested that Silicon Valley’s AI elite, including Peter Thiel and Sam Altman, are effectively locked in a techno-occult arms race to summon an “ancient Sumerian super-intelligent demon” through artificial intelligence.
Yeah, right!
